Protective shipping carton beside a clear hallway route toward a bathroom
Delivery access worksheet separating carton specifications from route notes for doors, turns, stairs or elevators and the final room.
Record constraints; ask the carrier to confirm.

Ask for shipping dimensions—not only product dimensions

A door’s installed width and height do not describe the package. Ask for the packed dimensions, weight, number of cartons and any pallet information for the exact selected configuration. Record the source and date of that information. Do not estimate the shipping size from a room photograph or use another model’s packaging as a substitute.

Confirm where the delivery service ends

Ask the seller or carrier what service is included for your destination and which access conditions apply. Building entry, stairs, elevators and placement inside the home should not be assumed. Share relevant constraints before scheduling, and keep the response with your order record.

Trace the entire route

Start at the agreed receiving point and follow the route to the planned staging area. Record doors, corridors, landings, turns and elevator access. Include obstructions such as handrails and door hardware. A carton may pass through an isolated doorway but still encounter a turn that needs professional review.

Give the route record to the handling professional

Use the worksheet to collect measurements and photos without attempting to solve the lifting or rotation method yourself. Ask the carrier or qualified installer to assess the route against the actual package. Do not test the route by carrying unprotected glass or removing packaging without instructions.

Check building arrangements

For apartments or managed buildings, confirm booking requirements, access hours and any service-elevator rules with management. Make clear who is responsible for receiving and moving the order. Obtain the required arrangements before the delivery day rather than expecting the driver to resolve them on arrival.

Keep uncertainties visible

If packed dimensions or service details are not confirmed, record them as unanswered. Do not replace missing information with the product’s nominal size. Contact the seller with the exact product selection and your route questions before committing to a handling plan.
