Finished tiled shower opening with plans, tile samples and a tape measure before ordering glass
Six-stage planning sequence from selecting a door through finished-surface measurements, option confirmation, ordering and receiving.

Separate exploring from ordering

Early in a remodel, use product pages to discuss movement, appearance and likely site requirements with your installer. Save candidate models and their documentation. This is different from treating a rough opening or a planned tile thickness as a confirmed final measurement.

Review requirements while the site can still be planned

Bring the candidate installation documents to the people responsible for the bathroom work. Ask them to review support surfaces, the base or tub rim and the surrounding layout. Do not improvise structural changes from a general buying article. The installer should identify what must be confirmed for the actual system.

Measure the completed surfaces

When the relevant finished surfaces are in place, record the opening using the exact model’s measurement instructions. Keep the top, middle and bottom values rather than rounding them into a single size. If conditions have changed since the first plan, update the shortlist before placing the order.

Confirm the configuration and current terms

Choose the correct size and finish on the current product page and verify the details with the installer. Review the seller’s current delivery and return information for your destination. Do not schedule around a generic shipping estimate from an old screenshot. Ask about any unresolved receiving or access requirements.

Allow the delivery to be checked before installation

Plan a time to match the shipment with the order and inspect it using the product instructions. Keep packaging and record any issue before irreversible work starts. Coordinate the installation appointment with the actual order condition rather than assuming arrival alone means the job is ready.

Use milestones instead of a universal timetable

The sequence is more useful than a promised number of days: explore, review site requirements, finish and measure, confirm the exact selection, receive and check, then proceed with installation. Your builder, installer and supplier should agree the dates for your project.
